New Providence Baptist Church 156th Anniversary Celebration – Rooted in Faith, Flourishing in Grace

New Providence Baptist Church of Columbus, Georgia is honored to celebrate 156 years of ministry, faith, and community impact during our 156th Church Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. This historic event will bring together members, families, friends, and guests to reflect on God’s faithfulness and to celebrate the legacy of a church that has served the Columbus community for over a century and a half.

Founded in 1870, New Providence Baptist Church has remained committed to proclaiming the Gospel, strengthening believers, and serving the community. Our anniversary theme, “Rooted in Faith, Flourishing in Grace” (Psalm 1:3), reflects the enduring spiritual foundation that has sustained our church across generations. Like the tree described in Psalm 1, planted by streams of water, New Providence has continued to grow, thrive, and bear fruit through seasons of change while remaining firmly grounded in faith.

The anniversary worship service will feature Reverend Jesse Reese as the Anniversary Messenger, bringing an inspiring message that celebrates God’s faithfulness and challenges believers to continue growing in grace. Under the leadership of Senior Pastor and Teacher Reverend M. D. McCullough, Sr., the church continues to embrace its vision of “Activating Your Assignment” (Isaiah 6:8), encouraging every believer to live out their God-given purpose and serve with commitment and compassion.

This special celebration will include powerful worship, music, fellowship, and reflection on the rich history of New Providence Baptist Church in Columbus, GA. Attendees will experience a service filled with gratitude for the past, celebration of the present, and anticipation for the future as the church continues its mission to impact lives through faith, discipleship, and service.
